Co-requisite: Welding I

This is the beginning level course of the residential carpentry/building construction program. Residential carpentry/building construction is a program designed to prepare students with skills to layout, fabricate, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools. The program includes instruction in common systems of framing, construction materials, estimating, and blueprint reading. The course also includes training in applied communications, and employability skills including leadership, human relations, and safe efficient work practices. This is the third course in a three-course program. A course designed to provide students with teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving, diagnostics, and repairing/building to industry standards.
