Learners become familiar with each phase of marketing and strategies to build business and brand equity for large-scale operations (such as hotel chains) and smaller businesses (such as restaurants). They learn how to assess marketing niches, understand the customer and consumer needs, and conduct primary market research. While studying the benefits and potential drawbacks of various marketing channels, learners develop an integrated marketing campaign that uses a range of appropriate marketing channels. Finally, they explore career opportunities in the field of hospitality marketing.

This is a foundational course that provides students with an introduction to the dynamic world of hospitality, events, and tourism, exploring how these interconnected industries shape modern travel and guest experiences. Students will explore the four primary sectors of the industry, analyzing current trends, technological advancements, and sustainability practices that shape modern guest experiences. Throughout the course, students will gain practical insights into industry operations while developing critical thinking and professional skills essential for success in this rapidly evolving field.

A course of study which introduces the travel and tourism industry. Students are given an overview of the various components of the industry, a history of the industry, an introduction to marketing and to the various exciting careers available in travel and tourism. Students also engage in a case study of their own city and study the latest trends which are impacting on the way people travel both for leisure and for business. A capstone course designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge in hospitality management. Event Planning introduces the process of professional event planning for the full range of event possibilities: special events and business events, sports events, and entertainment/ performing arts events. Learners discover all aspects of event planning, including aligning events with the client’s goals, sustainable event planning practices, facility selection and management, personnel management, audience management, budgeting, marketing, fundraising, and sponsorship.
