31221 Career Explore (Career Exploration and Employment Preparation) - 1 Trimester – PV-TEC 10 11
A course designed to allow students to explore careers, post-secondary training programs related to careers, and workplace readiness skills. Students will use tools such as questionnaires, computer programs such as Next steps Idaho, Idaho Career Information System, Career One Stop, College Board Big Future, and others. Students will learn to research careers and the post-secondary programs related to them. Students will learn workplace readiness skills during the second half of the course. State CTE code 221521
Students will coordinate with the Individualized Occupational Training teacher to turn in 70 hours of work experience as well as other required materials in order to earn each of these credits. Students must have a job (paid or unpaid position) in order to sign up for these courses.
31261 Career Experience I (Work based Learning Experience I) - 1 Trimester – PV-TEC 11 12
Prerequisite: Career Explore
This is the first trimester of a student’s work-based learning experience at an approved worksite. Technical instruction is provided by a community worksite mentor/trainer and coordinated by a properly endorsed instructor. Training plans and agreements are required. All students must have training plans developed from an occupational training outline that meets current industry standards. The tracking of the work-based learning experience is a requirement. 31262 Career Experience II (Work based Learning Experience II) - 1 Trimester – PV-TEC 11 12
Prerequisite: Career Experience I
This is the second trimester of a work-based learning experience. Training plans and agreements are required. Work-Based Learning Experience IV should be taken during the second semester of the student’s Senior year and should include a work-based learning project completed by the student.
