30501 Business Computer Applications I - 1 Trimester – CHS/HHS/NHHS/PHS 9 10 11 12
This course is designed to introduce students to the use of industry-standard computer applications. Topics include an introduction to operating systems and file management; the use of word processing software for purposes of creating and formatting basic business documents; and the use of presentation software to support the delivery of effective presentations. 30101 Business Law and Ethics - 1 Trimester – NHHS/PV-TEC 11 12
Prerequisite: Business Computer Applications I
Co-requisite: Principles of Marketing
This is a great elective course for students interested in any area of business or seeking a career in law. Students will be using computers to research laws, court cases, and to complete legal briefs. Curriculum includes civil and criminal law, the US court system, contract law, property law, marriage, divorce, and estate law. The class will offer opportunities to visit the Bannock County Courthouse to observe court proceedings and to learn about careers in law. A mock trial will be conducted as part of the class curriculum. State code 120540

Prerequisite: Business Computer Applications I
Co-requisite: Business Law and Ethics
Students will learn about the world of business, how advertising dollars are spent, and how companies determine sales strategies. This is a project-based class. Students will have the opportunity to create marketing plan and a marketing project relating to school or real world applications. State code 121640

Prerequisite: Business Law and Ethics and Principles of Marketing
Co-requisite: Business Ownership/Entrepreneurship
This course introduces students to the principles of effective management and leadership in today’s business world. Topics include the functions of management, key management theories, types of business organizations, and the role of ethics and social responsibility in decision-making. Students will also strengthen their communication skills, both written and verbal, while developing personal management skills such as time management, goal setting, and problem solving. In addition, students will explore the fundamentals of human resource management, including staffing, training, and motivating employees by combining practical skills with real-world applications, this course provides a strong foundation for future business leaders. 30791 * Business Ownership/Entrepreneurship - 1 Trimester – NHHS/PV-TEC 11 12
Prerequisite: Business Law and Ethics and Principles of Marketing
Co-requisite: Business Management I
Entrepreneurship: owning and operating your own business. Students will develop a business plan during the trimester that will cover the management, marketing, financial, and economic issues associated with becoming a successful business owner. This end of program course allows students to use their business knowledge to develop a plan and possibly establish a successful small business in the community.
