Future Readiness Project

Every learner has different strengths, interests, and ideas about what comes next. The Future Readiness Project gives learners an opportunity to turn those interests into meaningful experiences while developing skills for college, career, military service, and life.

What is the Future Readiness Project?

The Future Readiness Project is a personalized, student-driven experience that allows learners to explore an interest, passion, career pathway, or opportunity that's meaningful to them. Learners independently complete an experiential project, share their learning with an authentic audience, and reflect on their growth in Idaho's College and Career Readiness Competencies.

Beginning with the Class of 2028, the Future Readiness Project is an Idaho graduation requirement.

The important part: There's no single right project. Your project should reflect YOU.

Who Does This Apply To?

Class of 2028 and Beyond

The Future Readiness Project is required for Idaho learners beginning with the graduating Class of 2028.

10th GRADE | EXPLORE

Learners will:

Learn about the College and Career Readiness Competencies.
Explore their interests and strengths.
Brainstorm potential project ideas.
Begin thinking about what Future Ready means for them.
Discuss project ideas with Teacher Mentor.

11th GRADE | COMPLETE

Learners will:

Select and propose a project.
Complete the experiential component.
Meet regularly with their Teacher Mentor.
Reflect on their progress.
Share their learning with an authentic audience.
Complete the project by the end of junior year.

Class of 2028: Because this is the first graduating class affected by the new requirement, these learners will complete both exploration and the project process during their junior year.
